Rotate PDF pages

Turn sideways or upside-down scans the right way up and save the rotation into the file, so it opens correctly everywhere.

    How to rotate a PDF

    1. Choose your PDF. A preview of every page appears below.
    2. Click the pages that need turning, or leave everything unselected to rotate the whole document.
    3. Rotate left, right or 180°, check the preview, then press Save rotated PDF.

    About rotating PDFs

Scanners and phones produce sideways pages constantly, usually when a landscape sheet goes through a portrait feeder. Most PDF viewers can turn the page on screen, but that rotation is only a view setting: send the file on, and the recipient sees it sideways again.

This tool writes the rotation into the document itself, in the page attribute that every reader and printer obeys, so the page is upright for everyone who opens it afterwards. Nothing else about the page changes — the content is not re-rendered, and the text stays selectable.

Pages can be rotated individually, which is what mixed scans usually need, or all together. The previews show the rotation as it will be saved, so you can check the whole document before writing the file.

    Questions about rotating PDFs

Why does my PDF viewer forget the rotation?

Because rotating on screen in a viewer is usually just a view setting, not a change to the file. This tool saves the rotation into the document, so it survives being sent to someone else.

Can I rotate only some pages?

Yes. Click the pages you want in the preview grid and rotate just those. With nothing selected, the rotate buttons apply to every page.

    Does rotating lose quality?

No. Rotation is recorded as an attribute of the page, so the content is left exactly as it was — no re-rendering, no re-compression.

Can I rotate a page that is already rotated?

Yes. Each press adds another quarter turn to whatever the page already had, and the preview shows the result.

Will the text still be selectable afterwards?

Yes. Because the page content is untouched, text stays text, links stay links and the file stays searchable.
